Fraudulent Requests
Vendors and OSU staff should be aware that fraudulent requests for quotes or orders using OSU contact information are on the rise. In these scams, vendors receive requests that appear to be from OSU, but with incorrect contact details, such as fake email addresses, phone numbers, and fax numbers. Although the name and billing address may seem accurate, the shipping address is always a non-OSU address--often referred to as a “research” address.
If you receive any suspicious requests for quotes, credit line establishment, or orders that seem fraudulent, DO NOT process the order. If you're uncertain whether an order is legitimate, please email [email protected].
We strongly encourage vendors who suspect they have fallen victim to a scam to report it online to the FBI website at www.ic3.gov.
